“I give Dash and Dot Robots a 5 out of 5 stars! You can literally play with them for hours!”

Sabina, Age 9

Overview

Wonder Workshop makes these approachable robots with distinct “personalities” that encourage creativity as they teach coding. The CleverBots are separated by age range and capabilities.  Each CleverBot, Dot and Dash, comes with a suite of accessories that it can be programmed to interact with.  Many of these can be bought separately (including a xylophone) so you can customize your Bot for endless hours of fun.

The programing language for Dot and Dash is Blocky, and it can also be used to create projects in a new program called Dash’s Neigborhood that uses the same drag-and-drop programing language.

Kids Perspective:
Review by the STEAM Team

We loved checking out Dash and Dot. There are so many fun things you can do with Dash! With the App you can move Dash around which was really cool.

Some of the things we liked doing were just driving Dash around. We made up some fun games of tag and even did an human obstacle course that Dash had to navigate through! You can use coding to make the Robots do what you want them to do… move, sing, dance or talk!

We liked being able to record our voice and then have Dash and Dot repeat what we said – that was awesome!

Overall, these robots are pretty fun to play with once you get the hang of it. The App helps teach you how to code them which is cool.

Parent Perspective:

The Dash and Dot robots are super easy to set-up and the learning curve for kids to get them up and running isn’t too bad. We love that these are child-controlled robots. It lets the kids get creative and have fun (while teaching them the basics of coding!). With these robots, kids interact with and control the robots with the App, so make sure a phone or tablet is available.

These are super cute robots that have some fun accessories that the kids enjoyed playing with. Overall we’d say Dash and Dot robots are entertaining, empowering and engaging!
